Royal Ascot and the British Hat Guild have joined forces to launch a campaign designed to inspire racegoers whilst raising funds for four frontline charities: The National Emergencies Trust Relief Fund, NHS Charities Together, The Care Workers Charity and the Berkshire Community Foundation.
Royal Ascot and the British Hat Guild, spearheaded by the legendary Stephen Jones OBE, have invited leading British milliners to create a bespoke hat or headpiece featuring a rainbow theme, in-line with the nation’s use of rainbows to thank the NHS and frontline workers. Hats will be auctioned online throughout the week of ‘Royal Ascot At Home’ with all money raised being added to the charity fund.
The auction begins at 9am Tuesday 16th June 2020.
Today, Ascot launches its #StyledWithThanks charity appeal with a £100,000 donation to be split between four frontline charities: The National Emergencies Trust Relief Fund, NHS Charities Together, The Care Workers Charity and the Berkshire Community Foundation Coronavirus Fund.
Specially created rainbow piece donated by Milliner Ana, from Ana Bella Millinery will be auctioned off to raise money for charity.
Royal Ascot 2020 (Tuesday 16th to Saturday 20th June) will take place behind closed doors for the first time in the event’s history. However, racegoers will still be able to enjoy the racing action live on ITV and Sky Sports Racing and participate in what is traditionally recognised as the fashion event of the season.
