A little bit from Ana, before we introduce our guest writer, Marianna Corinne.

I for one, admire Meghan's very chic style, but I was also very surprised while reading Marianna's blog to find out that one of her hats she has worn to a British wedding, was from Marks and Spencer, retailing for about £29,00!! For those Aussie's, Marks and Spencers is about a mid level retailer, think Target range store and equates to about $60.00 dollars AU. I think she must have got a last minute invite and couldn't get a hold of her "go to" Milliners! How very normal :)! scroll to see the hat below in the blog ....

Flash back to October this year, I was busy making hats in the lead up to the Australian racing Season 2018 in my London studio, but I was also on Meghan hat watch as the Royals toured Australia and Fiji. I wondered if Meghan would wear an Aussie Milliner on her travels as the Royals seem to like to support local designers,. But Meghan stuck to her two favourites, and our favourite too, Stephen Jones on her Royal Australian Tour with Prince Harry. Above the couple is pictured arriving in Fiji, which was also during the week the world found out she was pregnant. What lovely news. We look forward to many more hat wearing, Royal celebrations and occasions to come.

Hope you enjoy our guest bloggers write up,  thanks Marianna for contributing!

Meghan Markle: Millinery Inspiration from Britain’s Newest Royal

From actress and activist, to writer and designer, Meghan Markle has worn many hats. But since taking on the role as the newly minted Duchess of Sussex, she's taking her hat collection to literal heights.

In Britain, it is standard protocol for all royalty to wear hats for formal and official occasions. It wasn’t until 1950 when members of the Royal Family were allowed to show their hair in public. Beyond its practical use and culture, hats are the ultimate fashion statement and head-turner. Look no further than the recent Royal Wedding itself, when guests dressed to the nines with their flamboyant outfits and non-negotiable head pieces. Hats are indeed the hallmark of British weddings and those in attendance did not disappoint — and the same goes for Markle herself, who has been undoubtedly owning each and every look.

Here are some notable millinery moments of the Duchess to get inspired by.

Last Commonwealth Day in March, Markle arrived decked out in the cutest white beret by Milliner Stephen Jones. It exuded an understated chicness, much like her now-iconic wedding dress and most of her personal style. She matched it with her white jacket to complete her Parisienne-inspired look.

The Anzac Day Service is a holiday that honours the slain Australian and New Zealand soldiers who died in battle. As such, it requires an all-black dress code and Markle rightfully rose to the occasion. She wore two different hats during both Anzac Days, the first one channeling her inner Princess Diana. However, most memorable was her all-black ensemble for the second day, which Pretty Me highlights as a sophisticated and classic outfit that is sure to fit in whatever setting. Occasion aside, Markle indeed emanated a fierce glow, which was further magnified by her Philip Treacy-designed fascinator with beaded dragonfly.

Last June, Markle attended the Queen's birthday celebration. To match the festivities, she opted for a trendy, pale pink Philip Treacy number to go with her dainty off-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress.

At the opening of the Royal Ascot racecourse, Markle went full-on Old Hollywood glamour with an extravagant white hat adorned with black structured detailing, also by milliner Philip Treacy. The look managed to pull all stops, with her simple shirtdress allowing the hat to shine solo.

At the recent wedding of the late Princess Diana's niece, Celia McCorquodale, Markle stole the show once again in an elegant straw pillbox fascinator, with sinamay bow loops and small white feathers on the trim.  It paired effortlessly with her printed Oscar de la Renta number.

At this point, Markle is an expert at monochrome perfection. While some might choose to play up their outfits by mixing colors and fabrics, she keeps her looks streamlined to perfection. During Prince Louis' Christening, she arrived in an all-army green colour palette, complete with a large straw side sloping disc hat. Casual cool with a Panama hat

The Duchess can play it casually too. On a day out at the Audi Polo Challenge with Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian, Markle got to show off her personal style with a cute gingham summer dress and the perfect Panama hat by American retailer Madewell and Biltmore.
